    Water Towers

Terry, are you talking about Cooling Towers for water source systems?

If so, I have a PDF of a CEU seminar that I took in 2012.  It was too basic for me, but I have given it to some of my younger techs and they learned some stuff.

If you want it, I can email it to you.

Could you send me a copy too?

I have a lot of holes in my old brain that I'm trying to keep filled up with basic information. I've nothing better to do now.

    CoolingTowers

Thanks meplumber, first card in the deck was Delta Cooling Tower, they kindly sent me a "White Paper" article, 8pages, on "Cold Weather Operation of Cooling Towers". the next card in the deck was Marley, now SXP Cooling-Marley. They have a library that has the very same "CWOCT" as above. They also have 36 more "White Paper" articles to pick thru. So for those interested, see you at the library. Next card will be Balitmore Air Coil. Not quiet the book I was looking for , but ,not bad, not bad! Now MY 1st source of info on COOLING TOWERS is RSES Educational Organization its in their SAM-Service Application Manuals-Manuals. Dividers 13-14-15.

    worth the extra cost

Closed circuit cooler is much better than open cooling tower over the long run. Sometimes a dry cooler makes the most economic sense.

    As usual, it depends

our here in the land of 5-10% humidity, evaporation can truly work wonders.

    yes it depends

In addition to what SWEI says,it depends on water & sewerage rates. Are there any districts that waive sewer fees for evaporated water? Avid gardeners should put a meter on their hose bib and try to get money back as well.
