Do I need to worry about having straight lengths of pipe going to and from low loss header.  I know that one likes to put 10 x the pipe diameter in length in front of a pump intake to reduce turbulence.  Any general rules for low loss headers.  I have limited space.  Thanks all

    A hydro separator?

    Size the unit for the maximum flow rate, and the piping for a flow velocity of 4 fps or less. You can close couple to the tank style hydro separators, I have seen ells connected right to the separators.



    The separator itself becomes the "wide spot" in the piping and will allow flow velocity to decrease as it enters.



    Typically a hydro separator body will be three times the diameter of the piping connected to it, this provides the "low pressure" zone. which in turn provides hydrailuc, air, and dirt separation.
