Odd combined single pipe in a 2 pipe system

There is one steam feed in my basement that has a T with a return to my wet return below the steam feed to a radiator. Is this common? Is this OK? I have not been able to identify a specific radiator it feeds, so could it have a different purpose?

Could just be a riser drip to compensate for the inability to properly pitch the run out. Shouldn't be an issue.0 -
