Honeywell zone valve

When you open a Honeywell V8043G1018 motorized zone valve using the manual control on the bottom of the valve, (and lock it open by pushing the manual lever to its parking position) is the valve completely or only partially open?

    depends

if you de-energized before you slid the lever then yes.  If you moved it over, and it still has power to it, then probably no.

    double check

My intention is to remove the function of the valve from my system by disconnecting its power source and then sliding the lever to the open position.  I understand that this would open the valve fully, is that right?

    yes

it should, unless theres some corrosion holding it open, but in that case you would know that already.

    HW zone valve.

For all intent and purpose the valve is considered open when locking the cam.  There is only about an additional 1/8" if that of additional travel which if using the motor, it will stall in the open position with that extra 1/8".  Either way the ball is up and out of the way of flow for the most part.
