Burnham MPO vs System 2000

I have no idea what to do or which system is better. I have a 3 bedroom ranch in MA with a finished basement. I have forced hot water heat, 3 zones, (which we really only use 1zone 95% of the time) and a 40-50 year old boiler. Two estimates I like the best are the Burnham MPO 3 pass system or the Energy Kinetics System 2000. Both installers seemed experienced and competent. I am a complete idiot when they try to explain the benefits of each and I watched a video on the 2000 that I was given by the boiler guy. I just want to know which is the best system (savings, durability, etc.), any experience with either system that will help with my decision. Thanks

    Are in a rush to get the replacement in before the winter due to a leak or other boiler problem?

    If you have time, then buy a couple of hydronics books from the store here, and all of the choices will be easier to understand.

    I hope that the contractors did a heat survey of your house, before choosing the proposed boiler. It is not a good idea to replace the old boiler with one of the same size, before verifying the heat loss, as the old boiler may have been Ill-chosen.--NBC

    Sys 2000

    Oversizing is not an issue with System 2000 since it purges the remaining heat at the end of a heat or hot water call to the last active zone.

    I don't think that all the issues associated with oversizing are simply resolved with a post-purge, and I would doubt that EK marketing or engineering would make such a claim, otherwise their product would not be available in such a range of outputs. In fact, their site states that proper sizing is key to efficient operation.
