If i have the edr of a convector suplied with 180 degree water how do i convert it to btu output 0f a boiler? Also sq ft of radiator to btu out put?

    The square footage x 150 for the btu output at 170* average water temp. The boiler will generally have 3 ratings: input; output (input x efficiency); and I+B+R (output x .85). This final number allows for a 15% piping loss. Actual loss may be more or less depending on piping material, length of run, pipe insulation, water temp, etc.

    At 180 degrees, each EDR equals 170 BTU's.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
