Weil-McLain P-466 Gas Retrofit?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if a Weil McLain P-466 can accept a retrofit gas burner? The boiler currently has a Carlin EZ-1 with a 6" blast tube. If the boiler can indeed take a gas fire what would be the proper size blast tube for the EZ-Gas?

I design boiler controls and do industrial oil to gas conversions for a living so I'm not half bad 600hp and above, but I just can't seem to get anywhere trying to talk to either Weil-McLain or Carlin.

All comments welcome,

Thanks

    Who did you

talk to at Carlin? Get in touch with Dave Rousayne at Carlin he will give you an official answer to your question. Unofficially so to speak the EZ gas should fit without a problem. Dave will spec the burner for you if in fact he recommends doing it.

Carlin did return my call and they were able to recommend the EZ-Gas with a 10" blast tube and a B diffuser. Now it's off to call the oil man....
