Can anyone explain this illusion, assuming there's no trickery here. it's all in the angle of perception?

    very neat!

    Thanks for sharing this. I suspect it works the same way as a normal perspective drawing of a cube works--the brain interprets certain angles and other cues as "meaning" 3D. I think the same sort of trickery is at work in the Ames room illusion.

    Be sure to watch the videos before reading the explanations. In at least one case, it will ruin the effect if you read the explanation first.
