Take a guess at what this venting configuration is for. It was on a house my youngest bought this summer. Let's just say it's a good thing most of the heat was supplied by a wood burner.

    I guess one is for plumbing the other for an oil tank.

    Concentric vent

    I think someone should tell that guy about concentric vents. He sure doesn't understand physics. That furnace should have been burning very cleanly.

    Think two separate appliances......

    The one on the right is a standard old Hiel 90% furnace. The cute 3" PVC thingy (schd 30 no less) is the vent for the atmospherically vented water heater.  Needless to say, it has been removed from service.
