Bladder-type expansion tank Best Practice

When installing a Bladder Expansion tank into a boiler piping setup, what is the best practice for piping size selection? There are 1/2" and 3/4" tanks available but it seems if the tank hags horizontal to its feed (from a T) the 1/2" could be an issue at some point. If / when the bladder breaks down and the tank fills with more water than new, it would be heavier. If 1/2 " copper is used, it seems the weight could break 1/2" piping easily if extended very far from the "T "of the feed. Having to repair this, i am thinking 3/4" is better. Are there any guidelines to review (maybe manufacturers)? Thanks in Advance!
