Triagel Tube Solo Boiler Problem

JohnGL Member Posts: 1
Hi everyone,

I have a solo 110 boiler that is supplying hot water to a restaurant.

I was called out last night because of no hot water.

I found the water pressure safety switch was leaking water.

Fortunately I had a replacement with me and replaced the switch.

Upon restoring power to the boiler the display shows "U 1.25".

I removed the cover on the Honeywell MCBA control and found a blown fuse just below the transformer terminals on the control.

I dried off the terminals to the pressure switch and checked other wiring.

Other than the foam lining the boiler being wet, everything seemed OK.

I replaced the fuse and restored power only to blow replacement fuse.

I then replaced the control board and the same fuse on the replacement control also blew.

I then removed the wiring harness cable from the control, replaced the blown fuse, restored power, blew fuse.

I switched transformers, replaced fuse, blew another fuse.

I rechecked wiring, everything seems to be OK.

I went to Radio Shack to get more fuses, 4 amp 250 V ?, all Radio Shack had was slow blow fuses.

Restaurant owner unhappy, I am not sure what to do next.

 Any help would be appreciated!

If I understand you correctly that fuse is for the 24V side, did you check to see if there is a backfeed from another 24V source? Are you using the standard Smart tank aquastat?

    BTW-That Is a 4 amp 250V slow-blow fuse from factory.

You've got a short to ground or neutral. Likely from being wet. Ohm it out.
