Had to bang of LWCO for Burner to start

My burner would not fire at all. It went straight to lockout. When I banged on the LWCO it fired right away. Has this happened to anyone before? Does it mean it might be faulty?

Type of LWCO?
If it's a probe type, you may have a loose connection. Or the probe could be grubby. If it's a float type, how long has it been since it's been flushed out? Or the float could be sticking?
Or... it could just be faulty!Br. Jamie, osb

I have never flushed it out. How do you do that?
Thanks
