Question for rural plumbing service-people,
Options
we`ve all seen drilled water-wells 4,5,6,8 inch dia. and larger for homes,,,, but have you ever seen a 2"? They were popular in my area from the late 60`s thru early 80`s.
On deep well(over 25`) installations they used a "packer-type" ejector sealed within the galv. casing with cup-leathers. From the head to this ejector was a 1" galv. "suction" pipe for rigidity in servicing(pulling). The tail to the foot-valve was usually poly-pipe with special SS clamps.
I`m VERY GLAD this system is not used in my area anymore, as servicing these gems was a most unpleasant experience to say the least! :-0

Yes indeed
I have seen a number of these things. The attraction was that they were relatively inexpensive to install in the first place. I don't think much thought was put to servicing them! Also, they were horribly inefficient -- and the deeper you went, the worse off you were.Br. Jamie, osb
