Steam heating system question
I am trying to identify if I have a one pipe steam system, a two pipe steam system, or a combination of both. I have a 4 story building with steam heat. Most if not all of the radiators have one pipe feeding the radiator and have a vent valve on the other end. In the basement where the risers go to each of the 4 floors, a F&T steam trap is located and a separate condensate return line goes to a condensate return pump. Does this mean I have a wet return or a dry return? Thanks0 -
Also, could anyone tell me what is meant by "dripping " the line. Thanks0 -
that's
one pipe steam. If the return to the condensate tank is full of water, it's wet -- if it's above the water line, it's dry (sounds trite, I know, but... sorry!)Br. Jamie, osb
