    Bad taste in the water...

    Can the anode rod cause bad tasting water?
    There is no noticeable smell but the taste is strange.
    It leaves a dry feeling in your mouth. The pipes are all copper so I don't think that has anything to do with it.
    It does get a little better if we leave the water run for a few seconds.

    Any ideas??

    The anode rod would only affect the hot water. So, unless you're drinking the hot water, something else is causing your problem. Find a local lab, or water treatment company and have some water testing done.
