Taco D’mand pump will work fine with a tank less heater. Push the button to energize the pump and the heater turns on producing hot water. Always consider the pressure drop through the heater when sizing the d’mand pump. This could be the problem you’re referring to with the on the demand system. Pressure drop through the tank less heaters are typically higher and low head pumps will not have enough capacity to trip the pressure switch energizing the heater, so the pump runs but the heater doesn’t. Taco recommends the 0011 D’mand pump with tank less heaters.

    D'mand Hot Water Systems

    Anyone, had experience with problems with Taco, Metdund, and Grundfos
    D'mand hot water systems, also how well do they work with Rinni and other
    tankless water heaters. thanks chris
