There is chemicals that can repair the crack. I don't advise you to do this your self. Sometimes you can create more Problems with using these chemicals. I would call a heating expert to look at it and advise you what to do. I have used chemicals and they do work 90% of the time and last for years. Your boiler is 25 years old If I was you, start saving for a new one. Good luck

    Drips in steam boiler

    Hey wetheads. Hopefully, someone can give me some insight here. My steam boiler is dripping water from its bottom inside the fire chamber. I originally heard a few drips of water hitting the gas jets and condensing immediately. Obviously, there is a leak. It only does it for a few drips and as the boiler just begins to make steam. Then, it subsides. How serious a problem is this...or actually, can this be remedied without total replacement of the boiler? The boiler is about 25 years old, but I am not in any financial position to replace her this year. HELP!
