I have a lower end 22 year old Burnham hot water on demand oil burner furnace that has been repaired numerous times that it is noe good money after bad for an investment. Supposedly there isn't a burner that will simply replace the one that is on it without a lot of costly adaptions, plus the water in the house has its' share of iron and maganeese which have also stressed the system so not sure what is my best choice to make. An all new system and if so any suggestions, rehab the existing system or go propane and have a cleaner burning and less maintenace set up?
Thanks

    Replacing a furnace system

I have a lower end 22 year old Burnham hot water on demand oil burner furnace that has been repaired numerous times. It is now become a case of good money after bad on my investment. Supposedly there isn't a burner that will simply replace the one that is on it without a lot of costly adaptions, plus the water in the house has its' share of iron and maganeese which have also stressed the system so not sure what would be the best choice to make. Go with an all new oil system and if so any suggestions? Rehab the existing system? Or go to propane and have a cleaner burning and less maintenace set up? Also looking for the best bang for the buck as this isn't a high end house so don't want and can't afford a Cadillac heating system.
    Thanks
