Utica PEG-C Series Boiler - opinions?

Anyone have anything good/bad to say about a Utica PEG-C Series Boiler? I have two pipe steam.

  • It's a basic, well-made atmospheric gas steamer

also sold as the Columbia CEG-C series. Like all dry-base atmospheric boilers, it is a bit less efficient than a wet-base, power-burner type which can also burn oil.

I've installed a bunch of them, if you include the proper tees they are real easy to flush out. Here's a pic of one with a drop header.

Utica is not a bad steamer for a dry base as steamhead has stated i have installed a few and have had no promblem but like all steam boilers mamnfactures header sizing should be followed or exceeded in size for a system that will produce dry steam ,also a s steamhead staed if piped correctly is very nice and easy to skim .Peace and good luck clammy
