jobs
Here are a few jobs we recently wrapped up. The Buderus job was an oil to oil replacement job. The house originally had oil FA with an electric water heater. We swapped out the furnace and converted to hydro-air with a second air handler for the addition.
The Munchkin boiler/tank was for a new house we did in Fairfax, VA. The flat plate heat exchanger is for a small snow melt zone on a patio/walk.
The Vitodens are installed in a large new home we did in Washington, DC. This job has been in progress for two years. I have posted progress photos of this as we went along. We're finally done! -DF

Nice
clean, well thoughtout jobs as usual. It looks like you use short sweep pressure fittings onn your Munchkin vents? I like the deeper socket of a pressure fitting but have always used the long radius drainage ells.

Thanks...
Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments. HR, regarding the vent fittings - I prefer the long radius fittings as well. Most likely, that is what was on the shelf when we piped the flue. Is this case, the total vent run is what you see - about 5'. On a longer run, the added pressure drop of the short radius fittings could be an issue. -DF

I agree
whenever I order solid core pressure PVC, the supply house likes to send pressure fittings. See you in Jackson

Nice looking stuff monsier
I gots a question. Do they let you do any of the piping anymore? It would seem a shame if they don't let you work the propress or bust a knuckle. (just go back to the office and draw some nice piping pictures Dano) I went out on an install yesterday and put the young ones to shame. I still got it by gawd. Great to see such nice work going on in the DC area. WW

Bracket
Jeff,
The heat exchanger is made by Flate Plate. They have an accessory mounting bracket that makes for a neat installation. -DF

Work
Wayne,
You know that beautiful piping in these photos was done by Bill, Brian and Papa. They won't let me touch the tools on their job as they prefer their piping to be plumb and level:) I do miss working in the field but I still get dirty every now and then. See you soon. -DF

Electrical
I fully appreciate the attention to detail with the electrical. It looks like they used Panduit channel for the low-voltage and a (?) metallic channel for line voltage. Did you specify this to the electrician?
It's sad when we have very nice looking work that is tarnished by a poor electrical finish. Kudo's to you and your crew.
Regards,
PR

Textbook work!
Dan, I wonder if Buderus or HTP aren't going to ask you if they can use these pictures in their literature. The utter, elegant simplicity of the Buderus install is a sight to behold. It's not frequent that the actual install looks as clean as the system drawing that one can see in a brochure.
The HTP Munchkin also looks very happy in its much more complicated environment. The obvious care that you put into getting all the pipes to line up as nicely as you did is a joy to behold. The boiler stand is a nice touch, as is the plug-in condensate pump and (once again) very clean wiring.
The Viessmann Vitodens' look quite happy and well-insulated. The large vertical LLH is really something! Once again, the piping is trim, the electrical stuff accessible but neat, the picture screams quality.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that your work is really impressive.0
