test for backdraft or CO

I use a variation of the Worst Case Depressurization Test all the time. The Energy Conservatory micromanometer is the best on the market, I feel. The booklet that comes with it is a good start but its only a start. You need to take as much training, courses, classes, and read as much as possible as this is a constant evolution.

    Backdraft

What is a good test for backdraft? Would something like this do? http://www.oikos.com/esb/47/CO.html It is at easy as it says? Should it cost a lot of money if a heaterplumber guys does this test for you or is it just part of a good prfessionals troubleshooting, I mean do you normally get charged hundreds of dollars for this test??
