WEBSTONE COMPANY, INC. SETTLES LAWSUIT OVER PATENT INFRINGEMENT

Boston, MA, December 1, 2005 – Webstone Company, Inc., a world leader in ball valve technology, today announced that it has settled a lawsuit over patent infringement. A lawsuit was filed on June 30, 2005 in U.S. District Court charging Raven Products with patent infringement of Webstone’s U.S. Patent No. 6,779,561 relating to Webstone’s patented Isolator® Uni-Flange Ball Valve. The lawsuit has been settled and dismissed, as Raven Products has obtained from Webstone licensing rights to manufacture and sell a ball valve under the Webstone patent. Webstone was represented by Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels LLP, and Brian Michaelis, Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.

Michael Reck, President of Webstone Company, Inc., was very pleased with the outcome, stating, “Brown Rudnick handled the issue quickly and effectively, and as a result, our goal was accomplished in a few short months.”

Webstone manufactures several unique products developed exclusively for the professional contractor. Those products are: The Isolator® Uni-Flange Ball Valve, The Isolator® EXP Tankless Water Heater Service Valve set and the PRO-PAL® Line of step saving valves. All of these products are either patented or have patents pending.
