    very nicely done

make sure you use this picture to show potential customers what kind of quality they can expect from you and your crew.
  • Nice job,

Ken. I like the document holder.

Will they be able to remove the indirect without removing some of the piping? Even though those SuperStor's are guaranteed for life...........

    Plenty of room

It's a little misleading. There is at least 4 feet between the superstore & the wall. Taking it out would be easy enough. Got to admit though,. I never had to replace one before. However,. We're going with Triangle tube for the next few projects.

Thanks for the kind words All..

    Looks Great!

I like the obvious attention to detail on getting all the pipes insulated, etc.

I do have question re: the zone valves though. Is that Taco one of the new variable-speed models, are you using a PAV, or is the system simply happy having 6 zones on one pump?

    Just a 007

As far as the secondary circulator goes it's just a 007.. Nothing fancy.

The design is special though. I use the side arm as a kinda buffer. The domestic heats up to +- 180 and,. because we put over a mile of tubing in this 2800 sqft home, we run the system at pretty low temps. I can pull the BTU's I need out of the domestic, on a 45-50 deg day,. toheat the home without the boiler comming on.

The btu/sqft/deg day factor on the designs has been between,. 3.8 ond 5 depending on customer usage.

    Good factor huh?

    That's pretty nifty!

It's interesting that the tank contains enough hot water to keep the house warm all day... a back of the envelope calc shows something like 40kBTU of usable energy... ah, the things we can do once the envelope is tight and well insulated.

Historic considerations prevented me from being much more efficient than 5BTU/(ft2 x DD)... oh well. I hope the Vitosols will make up for that by reducing the hot water heating needs.

About the 40K or less.. But that's enough to maintain a given area for a while on a semi warm day.. 50 or so deg..

keeps the boiler from cycling.. and the homes are pretty tight. Most of our customers keep the stats aroud 65 +-
