Replacement Air Vents

I need to replace the air vents in my house, does anyone have any opinion between the Hoffman 1a, Dole 1a, or Heat-Timer VariValve valves. Thanks.

Gorton, Hoffman, Dole and Vent-Rite

are all good. Gorton's vents all have fixed ports, but the other three make adjustable vents as you know.

I'm not so fond of the Vari-Valve, it's too easy to open this vent too far, making the radiator spit water.

How about the vents on the ends of your steam mains?

I was going to replace the vents on the steam mains with Hoffman 4a vents. I think the main vents are the root of my problem, but since all the vents are old, I thought I would relace them all since I am not happy with the way the system is heating.

I think I said this in your other post, if you're the same one who asked about those 4A vents. But if not- measure the length and diameter of your steam mains, and we can tell if the 4A is the right vent or if you need something else.
