No heat from my steam rdiator

My room radiators are base boards with metal fins. Since turning our heat on there is no heat running through two of these radiators. The control valves are in the fully open position and they are warm to the touch. I have the thermostat set to 70 but no heat is coming out. Also there is no noise coming from the pipe. Before I call someone in to check it out I was wondering if there might be some things I could check into first.
