Is it ever acceptable to reuse the existing header on a steam boiler replacement or must the new boiler get a repiped header to satisfy the manufacturer's specs? If an existing header is reused how might it affect the new boiler's performance?

the manufacturer's instructions to insure proper operation of the new boiler and the best quality steam, i.e. headers with bullhead tees will pull water out of the boiler (instead of totally dry steam) and can cause problems.
This is a picture of how a boiler should not be piped.
