Hey Mike, I agree with you. Pitts are great dogs! We actually have an eight year old female who has won a blue ribbon in an obedience contest. She is one of the most wonderful animals I've ever meet. She gets along great with our 5 year old American Bulldog and is wonderful with our 2 year old son.

You can't beat a Mutt !! My Dog found Me at my buddies house while he was cutting his lawn, She came up and LOOKED me in the eyes and that was it. Being a life long plumber, and the dog a female I named her after the Lady plumber on the old Comet Adds on TV back in the early 70's, any one remember her name ?

    Me neither Scott

Same hear. I love animals in general. I admire alot about the pit bulls tenacity and ferocity, and I have known a few really gentle ones that I never heard anything bad about, but I believe they ALL have "the uncontrollable beast" just under the surface. Look, I wouldn't have a wolf or even timberwolf-german shepard cross or a cougar for a pet - just too unpredictable. Believe me, I would rather see they sick negligent owners of these rampaging pitbulls and Presa Carnarios be put to sleep than the dogs. I won't stop there either: Great Danes can have big attitudes and get snappy and they are big enough to kill an average man. As mean as boxers look, you really never hear anything bad about them. Rottweilers, for their great numbers have few incidents although they aRE very menacing looking. When I used to work with the horses on the farm, we had some huge stallions that we would breed to the mares. They were all big , strong and tough, and very hard to handles - yiou ALWAYS had to watch your back - and fingers especially when you went intop theiur stalls. As I said they were all l tough sobs, but there were a few that were just plain vicious. And these horses were never abused - just there nature. No matter how nice and how many sugar cubes you gave them they were just common sobs. There was one named Devil's Tattoo (appropriately-named)who I tried to befri3end as I had to muck out his stall every morning...carrots, sugar, mollasses for two weeks. He would take the traet and still try to bite me - no changfin him. You could never trust them foe eb=ven a second. They would kick bite, stomp you every chance they got. We had a girl who used to ride for us who almost lost her breast when one of the studs got a hold of her - we had to hit him with an electric cattle prod just to let go. Getting back to the dogs. There is a diffrence between tough dogs and nasty ones. Mad Dog

    Buck

Buck, who I believe is a blood-hound/yellow lab mix. I got him from the pound, and it still amazes me every day that I could find such a great dog there. He weighs in at about 140 lbs, and is playful like a lab, although somewhat subdued. He has the bloodhound's nose, and has a ball chasing rabbits when I'm working on my house.
