Heat Transfer Products, Inc & the Munchkin Heater

Heat Transfer Products, Inc. has always been a company that has supported our products and we will continue to support all brands we sell. We strive to provide the highest quality appliance available on the market today from the SuperStor Ultra Indirect hot water heater to the Munchkin High Efficiency Heater.

We would like to address the issues related to the EBM combustion fans. We choose the EBM fan due to their representation in providing the highest quality and reliability combustion fan in Europe and the United States. EBM fans are used on almost every wall-hung boiler in Europe. EBM has worked with Heat Transfer Products to address the issues related to some of the fan failures. The main problem we have had with the fans has been related to the shaft connection to the impeller wheel on the 199M heaters. We have addressed this issue by changing the design of the 199M to incorporate a metal insert, which reinforces the connection point. Extensive testing was done and the new design has been implemented on all 199M heaters. We have also implemented a continuous fan-testing program, which tests fans we purchase on a continuing basis at our factory. This test cycles, 15 fans for 100,000 cycles, which will than be analyzed to address any issue that might interfere with the fans overall quality. EBM has also agreed to set up a similar test.

Heat Transfer Products, Inc. is changing the warranty policy to extend a three-year warranty on all combustion fans installed in the Munchkin Heaters. This three-year warranty will also be extended to existing Munchkin Heaters. The replacement cost can be addressed through our warranty department. Heat Transfer Products, Inc. is focused only on the high efficiency market and will continue to support the trade on any and all products we manufacture. My faith in HTP continues to be affirmed

... they didn't need to do this, but elected to put this issue to rest, once and for all. As I stated elsewhere, it can be extremely difficult to figure out what is causing the failures and why, particularly for a smaller company with limited design engineering resources.

So, a tip of the hat to HTP, and I look forward to seeing your factory at Wetstock V. In the meantime, keep the lines humming and the happy customers coming for more Munchkins.

I will admit that I am not a big fan of the munchkin but I will strongly admit that this is a standup company when they stand that strongly behind their product. I will in the future look toward's using their product since they will go this far...Nice job guy's

Ill keep the post and say that we will look at useing the Munchkin boiler in the future since the company will stand right behind the boiler and not so far behind as to not be seen , now lets see NTI make a similar claim since they use the same HX with a smaller header
