Some Plumbers should stick to Plumbing

  • Hey Bill,

    Hi Bill,

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I think you that are a little bit out of line here Bill.

I don’t appreciate cheap shots either. Not everyone who has posted here thought it was a“broad and general cheap shot.” In fact I actually think it has become quite an interesting thread indeed. More positive than negative. Albeit a bit racy, but that’s just my style. I’m truely sorry if it offended you.

You make it personal when you make statements like; you know of some plumbers that will “blow me away with their skills.” You just wouldn’t know that now would you Bill?.

In your very own home as I recall, when it came time to do two boilers, near boiler room piping and control wiring of said mechanical room, which you had designed, yourself, you wanted or (needed) someone else to do the actual install. Unfortunately my company in Colorado didn’t get the job. Possibly due to my lack of skill as a salesman more than a lack of“skill, knowledge, work ethic, good attitude or fantastic common sense”

I just don't understand that mentality either.

I would love to see photographs posted here on the Wall of that particular installation. I’m sure they did a fine job of it. That was a great design by the way. How’s it doing anyway. Any problems with Buderus, Tekmar or that wacky primary/secondary loop in the closet?

    Lighten up partner.

    The noun modifies the noun?

  • My Formal Retraction for all to see.

When I’m wrong I admit it.

To use the "broad brush" was wrong.
“Formal training is great, but not required for competency.”

Although I still strongly believe in what I said to be true. I also understand there are good and bad contractors in every trade equally. Plumbing & Heating companies included. I’m sorry to have offended some of my fellow colleagues.

  • The "Archimedes Screw" is his invention for lifting water--it looks sort of like an old coal stoker on an incline. I think they are still in use today.
