I am a very proud and private individual in many ways, but I am not going to feel funny asking you all for help. Mom, Colleen, also the world's greatest secretary, has melanoma of the lungs. She is a very classy lady, but as tough as they come - she is not taking this lying down. We are gearing up for TOTAL WAR against that evil-doer Cancer. I just ask all of you to please pray hard for her and for the atheists, please just send some good vibes and power - we''ll take all the help we can get. I am also praying for Patrick's wife now - you just keep on going strong honey, your success story will give my mom the hope she needs. Thanks you'll Mad Dog

I would be honored and will. If your mom is as tough as you say that's half the battle. A positive attitude can make a big difference in your immune system function. Don't forget humor. It's been proven that a good laugh can kick up your immune system too. Find out what her favorite comedians are and have her watch tapes all the time. I've been down this road so I kinda know what your going through but not exactly, no one ever does.

I will pray for her, and thank you for the thoughts on Kathleen. Sounds like we both have tough ladies in our lives...mine refuses to let hers affect her so far...she still works one full-time job and also does consulting, while still managing to look amazingly beautiful and strong. She also made three good-looking kids (luckily, not much looks from Dad). I am lucky I grabbed her when I had the chance!

The power of "positivity" (I first heard this in a Ziggy Marley song) is a wonderful thing whether by prayer or otherwise. Use it to it's full advantage now...may the good Lord bring her additional strength and courage.

Sorry to hear that Mad Dog. You and yours certainly have my best thoughts, wishes and prayers.

This is NOT being said as a "bummer" but having recently lost my mother unexpectedly make certain that she AND her family and primary doctor know and agree on measures to be taken in the event that she becomes incapable of directing her own treatment. Emotionality runs VERY high in the family under such circumstance.

For sheer will-to-live alone my mom might still be "alive" after these 6 months, but NOT in a condition that she herself considered "life". You have my most sincere wish that the tear that just fell into my keyboard turns into one of joy.
