heating values
Evaporation rate of steam is 4.15 gallons water per hr.per BHp.
Weight of 1 gal. water is 8.33 pounds X 4.15= 34.5 lbs. per hr. per BHp.
1 lb. of steam is 970 BTUH X 34.5 pph = 33,475 BTUH per BHp
Most heating professionals use 1 lb. of steam as 1000 BTUH which is much easier to estimate.
