    heating values

Evaporation rate of steam is 4.15 gallons water per hr.per BHp.

Weight of 1 gal. water is 8.33 pounds X 4.15= 34.5 lbs. per hr. per BHp.

1 lb. of steam is 970 BTUH X 34.5 pph = 33,475 BTUH per BHp

Most heating professionals use 1 lb. of steam as 1000 BTUH which is much easier to estimate.

I hope this is of some use.
