Gentlemen, I need your assistance.
I am about to negotiate a contract for a new house that has just started framing. It will have in-slab radiant heat and an indirect hot water tank.
What are some things you would suggest I specify?
My intention is to ensure their spec house heating contractor doesn't 'cheap-out' on my house.
Are there different types of valving or mixing stages that I should specify (which they could be cheap and skip)?
I might specify the requirement for Outdoor Reset.
And, I might even go all out and specify a Viessmann Vitodens 200 but hopefully the spec house contractors know how to install it properly.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You

I would suggest.............
That you utilize the "Find A contractor" feature that Dan has provided for homeowners and contractors on this web site. You sound as though you are wanting a quality and comfortable install.
However if your GC's heating contractor is not able to provide you with a heating contractor that is'nt qualified or knowledgable in the equipment you are requesting.......well you should grab the wheel and interview your own.
I do understand that some GC's are not willing to accept the "interferance" of an outside sub.My opinion of this is that if he or she cannot reckognize this "issue" than perhaps they should'nt be building your home.Any GC that is of the progressive nature should be willing to entertain the request that a client like yourself is requesting.
