cast iron help

Is there anything that can be done to try to repair a crack in cast iron. I'm looking for anything at all, whether something to temporarily try to seal to slow a leak to something maybe permanent to some degree i.e. super glue or the radiator leak stuff?
I ran across a (very old looking)"Hotstream" #44 made in cleveland ohio gas water heater nothing more than a coil over a flame without any controls tied to a large galvanized tank. It is a very interesting piece and is in incredibly great shape, but has a crack at the door near the hinge. I figured someone here must have some trick up their sleeve.
I would appreciate any ideas at all. I would like to clean the piece up and display it somewhere.

take a look
at some of the thoughts the guys posted under my thread on leaky radiators -- it's around here someplace -- there might be something usefulBr. Jamie, osb

I did look at the other post, but it was mostly for leak prevention. This crack is more structural since it supports the door hinge, and is on the fire side. I just can't believe there aren't any better ways these days to join cast iron and the other i wish there was a better answer to was cracks in aluminum0 -
cast repair
you can braze it yourself, or take it to a good welding shop and they should be able weld it with cast rod, hope this helps

I have a buddy
who runs an amazing foundry. Makes his livin' just reproducing cast iron parts for old stoves and windmills. Buisness is called Stoves of Yesteryear. You can contact Dave at 1-970-867-2540. Send him that broken door and he'll make you a brand new one just like it. Price is darn reasonable too. Tell 'im you got his number from some guy called Spotts.0
