    Homer, Alaska

I live in Homer,Alaska which is about 200 miles south of Anchorage, and on the Kenai peninsula. For those of you who do not know where Alaska is,it is way up there on the top left part of the map, just outside of Canada. Really! I understand that if you don't have a job, you can go fishing on the Kenai river for some of the biggest king salmon on the planet. One of these days I might just go and see. ( if there is any left)!

( actually it's bigger inside than it looks- alot of love'll do that.) Paul, Sue. Ian, Graeme, Liam, and Sam(antha). The two older girls are out on their own now, and I did get a Grandson for christmas.

    Where?

Lisbon , Connecticut. Halfway between the new Home Depot and the trash to energy plant. Before we had people and cows. Now we got a MacDonalds and a home depot and a Super walmart. Had one traffic light on the border of the neighboring town, now thanks to progress, we have 5 or 6 in a quarter mile. I still have 35-50 cows for next door neighbors. Oh yeah and I am 20 minutes from Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. Things sure have changed
  • Ahah, Mike !!!!

So this is where all the 150,000 bug & virus-laden e-mails are coming from :O) I get at least 25/day from Mdowney32 as the return path.

I know you didn't send them, Mike, your machine has a problem.

    Oh yes, sorry, the topic.

I'm from Wallsend-on-Tyne, England. And got to Lake Charles Louisiana on the edge of one nowhere, which borders on the edge of another nowhere, via stints in New Zealand, Aussie, Quatar, France & Greece.

The nearest wethead to me, is Sir Jeffrey Lawrence of the beautiful city of Atlanta, Georgia, approx 600 miles.

Considering it's sub-tropical here, y'all can see why I'm not in "Find a contractor" :O)

    G'night all, and happy heating.

    Brian in Swampland.

    and another guy from....

Homer Alaska. Rick forgot to mention that we are at the end of the road. Once you drive here, you can only turn around and head back, but don't hit a moose!
16 miles up the road is the farthest west you can drive on a USA road. Other places are farther west, but you have to fly to get there.
Hi Rick, didn't know you read this stuff too. Now I can't talk about ya anymore. ;-)

    And Bearflanks...uhh...umm...Fairbanks, Alaska checks in

Right here in the middle of Alaska.
Coldest winters and hottest summers. Makes for an interesting dichotomy. We actually have degree days here for cooling! Not to mention the 14,500 degree days for heating! Hey Homer guys, took a little of your fish home the last few years. Wife pulled a 289 pounder out three years ago. still eating on her. (the fish that is!.. as most large halibut are females). 45 above today and the snow is running in rivers off the roof. Not a good thing to happen here in the beginning of February. We still have 2-1/2 months of winter left and we need the snow.
    Happy Heating,
    Rocky

    Kenai, Alaska

Just a stones throw from the world famous Kenai River (literally across the street!) but haven't had time to fish in several years. Dip netting is just about the most fun you can have fishing... sometimes getting two or three red salmon in your net at one time. Oh well, what true wallie wouldn't rather be talking radiant than fishing! G

Where there's twice as many miles of ditches as there are miles of roads. Just like life itself.

Still no traffic light in Florissant, but the Thunderbird Inn is worth a stop.

    Michigan City, IN ...

Once was Michigan City MICHIGAN, but was given to Indiana as a concession following the Michigan/Ohio war in the 1830's.
