Counterflow steam line

I have to replace a buried steam line.
I have two options.
1. Run a four-inch line and install a condensate tank at the end of a 100 foot run.
2. Run a six-inch(?) counter flow line and install the tank at the beginning of the line.
Option #2 presents much easier access for the tank.
How far is too far for counterflow????
How much does the line need to be upsized???
Developed lenght is 100 feet.
The line has four ells and take the shape of a "U"
Thanks.
