Would appreciate information about New York City and/or ASME requirements for blowdown separators with high pressure boilers. I need the actual code sections. Thank you.

BD Seperators
I suggest that you reference the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors publication...National Board Rules and Recommendations for the Design and Construction of Boiler Blowoff Systems, NB-27. Also, ASME Section VII...Recommended Guidelines for the Care of Power Boilers.
In our area, non-code blowdown seperators(BDS) are accepted but if the boiler installation system is "professionally engineered", it is likely the BDS will be ASME stamped.
I further recommend that if you have insurance on the boiler that you contact your boiler inspector for input or go directly to the appropriate jurisdictional office for help.0
