Refractory Keeps Sliding out of Place

Hey All!

Just had my 30+ year old Bryant (made by Dunkirk) boiler inspected and cleaned for the season. The tech mentioned the refractory has slid out of place and if it continues, can cause serious issues. Is there a way to "glue" it back in place or is this worthy of a new boiler (per the tech).

Thanks,

Lew

We need more information on the model of boiler Gas or oil fired?

And some pictures will help. The refractory could be a minor issue that can be repaired or it could be a real problem. Some techs see a few minor cracks and tell you you need a new boiler.

It's a gas boiler. I can get pics, but it's back in place for the moment.
