Old cheaper Main vent valves.

Options

So I have a new Utica gas steam boiler with the older cheaper vent valves on the Mains and i was wondering if I went with a Gordon #1 if there would be any difference in the way the radiators heat up. The system right now works very good.

it depends. look at how long it takes for the ends of the mains to get hot from when the boiler starts steaming. if it is a couple minutes then the limiting factor is probably the mass of the mains. if it is like 10 minutes plus then you could probably use more venting.

also make sure they close when they see steam.
