Oil Boiler replacement cost

Considering replacing 50 year old oil-fired cast iron boiler with built-in tankless with a new oil-fired boiler and an indirect storage tank. Job will replace old zone valves (currently two) along with boiler controls, expansion tank, etc. This is a two-story colonial maybe 2,000 sq ft. What should I expect to pay for a job like this including removal of old boiler? Any input would be helpful and much appreciated. Thank you

Of course you read the rules about '…No Pricing…'
    Go get some estimates.
    Couldn't even offer a WAG
    Asbestos?
Logistics of getting equipment in and out of building.
    Copper pipes, steel pipes?
    50 year old tank also?
    And on and on…

Sorry, I didn't see any rules. What the hell is WAG? Asbestos? I said it was fifty years old, not 150

The rules of this sight do not allow for pricing. There are too many variables to consider. No "cookie cutter" price can be offered. There are no cookie cutter installations either.

From your post it seems that you have a hot water boiler? Is that correct?

A direct replacement that includes a company that will back their product is a good way to go. You do not want a company that will give you a tail light warranty.

Get a few quotes. At least three. Listen to what they have to offer. Don't necessarily go with the lowest price. That lowest price, you could be paying for over and over again.

Look for a reputable company that backs their product .

Boiler could be 50 years old in a 50 year old house. It could also have been replaced 50 years ago in a 100 year old house.
