Venting ARCO convection steam radiators with vent-rite 1A's

These ARCO's have straight venting on top of the radiator. The vent-rite 1A's only come angled. I had heat timers on them and they heated up fine but would like the better control that comes with 1A's. I installed the 1A's into a street elbow and now they either don't heat or are way too slow. Any suggestions on how I can tweak these so I get the benefit of the 1A's or should I just go back to the heat timers?

Thanks in advance.

Pete

I would go to straight Gortons or Maid O Mists

aren't the heat timers very fast vents. do you have main venting issues or do other radiators still have the heat timers on them?

The Ventrite 1 is a solid top of the line steam air vent, I would start at 2 and increase it a half a number until you find the comfort temperature that works for you, important only make the changes at the end of the cycle.

thanks. No main issues. Gortons on the mains and 1A's all rad's except 2 Arco's. .I'll try the 1/2 number first & go from there.
