Wanted to rant briefly regarding a new Hoffman 40 ordered from Supply House, after complaining of an improper fit into the radiator and a glowing recommendation, tbey didn’t want it back, wonder why.

Had a similar issue with the Hoffman 1A and wonder if Hoffman is an americanese company, this has become very frustrating at least for me.

Took an older Hoffman 40 for comparison, style is different, tongue is longer and the Made in Chicago is removed from the shell on the newer one

Now I’m stuck finding a true Hoffman 40 elsewhere.

That's right, Wes- and I don't buy them anymore.

I’ve been able to find “new” old stock in eBay for a pretty decent deal

Another case of parts moved to overseas manufacturing. Sad.

It's near impossible to ride herd on quality when the production line is thousands of miles away. The money saved will not make ujp for the damage dune to the brand because of quality problems

They can both engineer, and manufacturer drones and 3D printers that are far better than ours, but they can't make a simple steam vent. Sure. I've got a few bridges for sale too while we're at it.

There's a reason the stuff was moved overseas and it's the same reason the quality is so bad. Those are made poorly because that's what people are willing to pay for. The demand is very low and that makes it very hard if not impossible to make them cheaply.

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.
