Noisy gorton rad vent

Options

This #5 on an upstairs rad is noisy. After all the vents close this one will hiss. This radiator also is noticeable hotter than the other in the same room. The pitch of the vent is slightly below horizontal due to the elbow. Would this cause the noise? I tried to get the angle perspective correct in the photo but its slightly leaning. Turning the elbow is tough.

Don't know why a 90 isn't 90 or why the nipple isn't straight up but the vent has collected water and is not closing on steam. I'd take the time to turn that elbow around so if anything it is sloping up and change the vent to a Gorton 4.

Assume the pitch on the vent is due to the pitch on the entire radiator. Take the vent off and then put a pipe wrench on the elbow and it and/or the the nipples will turn. Up to you then whether you put a straight vent on or if room one like you have but positioned toward the wall (upward). Either will work but if the room/radiator is too hot then reduce the venting to a #4.

Thanks. So sounds like the geometry is probably and hopefully the issue here
