Adjustments Needed When Tankless Coil Removed or Abandoned
Homeowner with Columbia CSFH-4125. Other than removing the lower limit on the Aquastat, are any other changes recommended if I either abandon or remove the tankless coil in my oil fired boiler? I'm particularly curious whether anything needs to be done to account for the increased water volume in the boiler if I remove the coil after the heating season is over, Thanks in Advance!

It's easiest to abandon it in place — they can sometimes be remarkably difficult to remove without damage. Just disconnect the water lines to it. Be sure to leave at least one of them open!

Yes there is something you can do to save on operation that boiler after toy stop using it for DHW thru a tankless coil. It appears that you are operating that boiler with a Beckett AquaSmart advanced boiler control. (If not then let me know what control the boiler is using.) This boiler was set up to maintain a minimum water temperature so in the off chance that you might want to wash your hands in the middle of the night or take a shower in the morning when you wake up, there would be plenty of hot water. Not the most efficient way to make DHW in my opinion, but people still do it.
Now that you are not using hot water from your oil boiler, you want to tell the boiler that you dont need to make hot water any more. if you keep that a secret from your boiler control, then it will keep making hot water that you will never use. and that costs money in fuel usage to make hot water…. although you will use less oil by cutting the pipes, you can save even more by letting the secret out, and shouting to the boiler that you don't need to make DHW any more.
It is quite easy on the Beckett AquaSmart. Set the Low to OFF
You need to abandon that coil by leaving at least one of the openings (hot out or cold in) open to the atmosphere. If you plug both of them you might build up too much pressure and blow out a plug into the room just as you are walking past it. That small cap will have the velocity of a 45 caliber gun shot. And rip right thru you or dog or whomever is in the way of it.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
