Anyone identify this main vent ?
For curiosity, anyone know what type of vent this is?

It's a radiator vent. The format indicates either a Gorton or Maid O Mist. There will be stamped lettering on the other side that will tell the whole story.

Other side is blocked. I couldn't tell from the inlet because it's an odd shape. Maid o mist and gorton look slightly different in that regard

Looks like a Gorton. Maid O' Mists vent through the top of nub. Gortons though the back side of the nub—through the hole in the photo (and leave a mark on my white radiators).

I think you're correct. MoM have that screw on vent

it’s a Gorton radiator vent threaded into a street elbow

Probably a D given it's a rad vent

Given the size of the hole, I think you're right.
Nothing wrong with doing it this way, as long as the vent is adequate for the main it's on. @ratherbfishing , how long is that main, and what pipe size?

@Steamhead it's the short main. 26 feet, one 90 degree turn, 2.5 in

That should work fine. If the other main is longer it needs more venting.
