Steam radiator not getting hot

I have one radiator not getting hot. The other radiators on this floor are hot. I removed the air vent and I made sure the valve is open all the way. I left it like this for 20min and it is still ice cold.

has it worked in the past?

as far as the homeowner can remember it has. Told him I’d have to pull the radiator to check the valve, but he decided to leave it. If the valve is fine I guess there is some blockage along the pipe to the radiator?

is this one pipe? probably piping that has shifted or a main vent that has failed or something like that. a "blockage" other than the washer falling off inside the valve is unlikely. Where the piping toward the radiator is hot and cold may give you some clues about where the water or the air can't get out.

If the shutoff valve has not failed in a way that blocks the pipe and it's not an air vent problem, check for proper pipe pitch. Any horizontal pipe in the radiator runout should slope back toward the main so condensate cannot pool anywhere.
