Searching for Knowledgeable help with W-M Ultra 230 boiler
Original W-M Ultra 230 installed in 2005 when my 3500SF house was built (radiant heat + using to heat pool). Numerous pumps and parts failing, corrosion, etc. by 2013. Had local Rep from Weil-McLain come to inspect the entire system. Found MANY improper installation things done (too numerous to list here). Local HVAC guy corrected some of them. Managed with this until 2019 when more issues, leak, corrosion, etc. Had brand new Series 4 Ultra 230 installed in 2019 by different HVAC guy. Now this boiler is having corrosion issues. Been reading on this, and other forums about issues that may be causing this. Basically, I need on site help from someone who is actually knowledgeable about these boilers. Searching locally ( north of Pittsburgh, PA) area does not show me anyone who seems to have enough experience. Tried searching for a contractor using the Weil-McLain website but returned no names with 75 miles. Anyone in western PA or eastern Ohio who can help?

This may or may not be his area of expertise. If not he may know someone who can help.
Are the pool chemicals part of the issue? You do have a heat exchanger between the boiler and the pool?

Sentinel X100 is recommended by WM. Also get the test kit.

Sounds to me like you have a serious water quality or air quality problem. What is your water supply? And as someone noted, are there any chemicals stored in the same general space as the boiler — specifically pool chemicals?

Is there glycol antifreeze in the system? Aluminum blocks have to have special glycol….
