Bronx apartment gas explosion
News still coming out on this an apparent gas incinerator explosion.
When I worked at Todd CEA in Stamford, CT one summer in 1972 the gas fired incinerator market was huge business for them in NYC. With the air pollution laws I don't know if they still use them or dispose of the trash. Probably the later. Apparently took down a corner of the building.

That looks too clean to be an explosion. Almost surgical. I have read incinerators were demo’d a long time ago but the trash chutes were still in use and dropped into trash compactors. The latest is boilers are turned on for heating on October 1. So, maybe it was an explosion.

That chimney filled up with fuel and blow . I say it was a flame out ,on a burn out .
Thank God no one was killed …
