Radiator shut off valves
I am replacing a few shut off valves on my hot water radiator system, since we are switching boilers next week.
Do I HAVE to replace the nut that is threaded into the radiator that requires the spud wrench Or can I just reuse it on the new valve?
Do I put blue teflon tape on the threads of it?

The nut that is connected to the Spud in the radiator is a matched set with the valve. You will need to replace the spud in the radiator unless you can find the exact make and model of the valve you are replacing. (unlikely)
here is the tool you need to replace the fitting in the radiator and install the replacement spud. Spud Wrench

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

thank you, I just ordered one on Amazon. Luckily I only did two so far so I will just replace the spuds real fast tomorrow. I ended up getting an old rusted radiator sandblasted and powder coated for our bathroom. I wish I could do it for all of them in the house!
