Asking for myself as a fellow is using this boiler to replace a Van Wert VA1400 steamer coal stoker with a single 4 inch riser and no drop header.

Apparently they are welding a second connection to the exposed pipe in the image and

I have no idea where the piping would end-perhaps in the side tapping in section 3 of the boiler?

Where would the skim port be located on a BurnhamV904A boiler be located?

The drawing on page 11 of the manual make no mention of it or the location for the Hartford Loop tapping.

    Here's the manual:

The return goes into the tapping in the rear. That side tapping might be for a condensate loop.

The V-904A only needs one 4" riser to a 4" header. It looks like that riser goes to an existing header, and the equalizer drops towards the rear. This should be fine as long as the pipe sizes and pitches are good.

Thank you both, I had not waddled down through the manual looking for the piping layouts yet when I posed the question to the forum.
