Dirty Water Sight Glass
What should I expect when I call someone to fix this? This system runs on oil. It heats our steam heat radiators and also provides our hot water. Lately the water hasn’t been getting hot for showers. So I have to go to basement and add water to the system. Can I just empty the dirty water from the blue spigot on the bottom right? Then put some more water in. Or should I just leave it to the professionals? Thanks

is the water level dropping dramatically when you’re making steam?
If so it’s probably due to surging from dirty water so you should drain it, refill and then add 8-way or other ph increaser to keep the water clean.
Then try hard to minimize any water loss, either purposeful or from leaks
How often and how much water are you adding?
